Gamunex® is a ready-to-use liquid preparation.

Liquid preparation
IGIVs are available in liquid and lyophilized (freeze-dried powder) form. A liquid product is ready to use when the patient shows up for infusion. It does not have to be reconstituted like a lyophilized product, which can take more than 20 minutes to dissolve. Because of potential waste, reconstitution of lyophilized products is often not started until the patient arrives. Therefore, the use of liquid products minimizes preparation time and avoids delays for the patient.

Infusion rates
Gamunex®has a maximum recommended infusion rate of up to 4.8 mL/kg/hour, which combined with its 10% formulation provides one of the fastest infusion times among IGIVs, while still providing excellent tolerability for patients.

The Primary Immune Deficiency Disease 2002 patient survey conducted by the Immune Deficiency Foundation reported that two-thirds of patients have the desire to increase their infusion rate. This could result in less time spent with infusions and more time living.

A product with a 10% formulation, infused at a fast infusion rate, while maintaining an excellent tolerability profile is preferred because it saves time for everybody involved.

Additional convenience
Gamunex® provides easy handling for caregivers. Features such as long shelf life, room temperature storage, different package sizes, tamper evident packaging, etc. make it easier to use IGIVs while freeing up time for healthcare professionals and patients:

  • Low storage volume
  • Long shelf life-3 years
  • Room temperature storage
  • 5 different package sizes
  • Color-coding
  • Peel-off label
  • Integrated IV sling
  • Tamper-evident packaging

Gamunex® means less infusion time for patients:

  • Time-saving 10% formulation
  • High maximum infusion rate (up to 4.8 mL/kg/h)

You should know about those differences between products. Remember, your doctor or healthcare provider is the single best source of information regarding you and your health. Please consult your doctor if you have any questions about your health, your symptoms, or your therapy. Make sure you are receiving a product that is best suited for your needs.
