My Experience with IGIV
During my 20 years working in the field of immunology, I have been fortunate enough to see the entire spectrum of care for primary immune deficiency disease patients change for the best. There have been so many exciting advances in the diagnosis and treatment of immune deficiency disorders since the '80s when I first began practicing.
One such treatment advancement was the introduction of Gamunex®. The patients I see daily always list safety of their IGIV product as their number one concern. The new purification process for Gamunex®, which uses caprylate/chromatography, improves product purity and process reliability and helps address this concern. The manufacturing process used also makes Gamunex® a well-tolerated product.
Over the years, I have found my patients to be very savvy, and they actively research treatment options. Patients are interested in the benefits and potential side effects of their treatments. My patients find Gamunex® to be a very well-tolerated product. They also appreciate the ready-to-use benefits of Gamunex® because their infusions take less time and they can focus on the things in life they really enjoy.
Seeing my patients manage their primary immune deficiency disease and lead a normal life is the most rewarding part of my job. Gamunex® helps many of my patients do just that.
